A number of northern projects are among 27 in BC splitting $1.3 million in fresh Federal funds to go toward active transportation projects.
$9,000 of that will help fund the development of an active transportation plan for the City of Prince Rupert.
Old Massett’s Village Council gets $50,000 to create a plan to improve and enhance accessibility of the East Beach Trail.
$50,000 will go to the Saulteau First Nation to help develop a safe trail strategy to connect key points of their East Moberly Lake Reserve.
Another $50,000 will help the Regional District of Bulkley Nechako build a 12 km pathway along Highway 35, connecting Burns Lake and Tchesinkut (teh-sing-cut) Lake.
