A pregnant woman was taken to hospital in Prince George on Friday after being struck by a vehicle while walking along Highway 97.
RCMP were called out to the intersection with Noranda Road just before 7:00 in the evening for reports of the collision.
A passing motorist was able to provide first aid to the 37 year-old woman before she could be transported to hospital in serious condition.
While the woman is now in stable condition, her unborn child was not able to survive the impact.
Police are now looking for information on a 2014 to 2017 Ford F-350 believed to be involved in the incident.
They say the truck would have damage on the front passenger side, and was driving in the area between 6:30 and 6:50.
Anyone with information or dash cam footage is asked to contact Prince George RCMP at 250 561 3300.
