Unionized Support Staff at Two Northern Schools Covered Under New Tentative Bargaining Agreement

Support staff at two northern post-secondary schools are among 7 to sign a new tentative bargaining agreement with the province.

Signed between the Post-Secondary Employers’ Association and BC General Employees’ Union, the agreement was made through the support staff Multi-Employers Table.

It covers roughly 3,800 unionized employees, working in administration, food and beverage services, facilities and technical support, library support, and as teaching assistants.

BCGEU-represented employees at Coast Mountain College, and Northern Lights College, are among those included in the agreement.

If ratified under the province’s Shared Recovery Mandate, individual negotiations will then fall to the local level, under the two-tiered system.
