BC’s Independent Investigations Office is looking into an incident in which police say they found a man suffering from serious injuries during a call in Tsay Keh Dene.
RCMP say they responded to reports of a disturbance at a residence in the remote community at around 5:45 in the evening.
Officers say that when they arrived on scene, they noticed no disturbance, but found a man locked inside a bedroom, refusing to come out.
When they were able to enter the room, they found the man suffering from serious injuries, believed to be self-inflicted.
Now, the IIO has launched an investigation to determine whether or not police actions played a role in the man’s condition.
