A grand opening of a recently completed project was held today by the Prince Rupert Port Authority.
Namely, the authority’s Fairview-Ridley Connector Corridor was formally opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
This Connector Corridor was developed by the authority to be a big part of Prince Rupert Gateway’s intermodal ecosystem, a system that connects road and rail infrastructure with transloading and marine terminal operations that’s already apart of the Port’s operations.
It essentially shortens the distance that trucks need to go between existing transloading sites in Prince Rupert and facilities in Fairview Container Terminal.
This Corridor has also been touted to provide significant benefits to local and Indigenous workers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
