44 Communities throughout BC are going to be getting provincial funding in order to bolster services that will help homeless people during bouts of extreme weather.
Over $15 million will be used to fund community projects that provide services such as mental-health supports, creating more temporary shelters as well as expanding them so more people can use them during extreme weather days.
These funds will be provided through the Strengthening Communities’ Services Program.
Some of the communities getting funds include Quesnel getting $111,750, Terrace being the recipient of $112,000 and Williams Lake receiving $110,396.
