In a recent announcement, it was revealed that over $7.5 million will be headed BC’s way via the Federal Government to help support the aerospace sector.
This funding will be split up and given out to three different organizations in order for each of them to complete a project they are working on.
The first organization getting funding is Chinook Helicopters and they will be getting $1,171,800 to develop a Virtual Reality Training and Simulation system.
The University of Victoria will be the second organization getting funding, and they will receive $1,500,000 to complete their development of Hybrid Electric Propulsion Systems.
And finally, $4,862,250 will go to Avcorp Industries so they can adopt digital technologies to create efficiencies and enhance productivity.
These funds are intended to not only help these organizations, but to also create 110 jobs in BC’s aerospace sector.
