Another day of blistering hot temperatures is on the slate for BC today, with highs expected to hit the mid-30s across much of the province.
Extreme heat warnings are in place covering the entire province outside of Prince Rupert, Haida Gwaii, northern Vancouver Island, the Central Coast, Elk Valley, East Columbia and sections north of Iskut.
Environment Canada is reminding residents to watch for symptoms of heat-related illnesses, such as swelling, cramps, rashes, fainting, and heat exhaustion.
In addition to staying hydrated and avoiding strenuous activities, residents are being advised to prepare a heat plan.
That plan should include identifying places within both your home and community to cool down.
In Terrace, residents can cool down at the library, or Kermode Friendship Centre, and those aged 12 to 24 can do so at the Foundry building.
You should check with your local community to see what public cooling options or events are available.
