Two serious washouts which have impacted traffic in the north the past three days will continue to do so today.
Highway 97 is now open to single-lane traffic, guided by a pilot car, southeast of Lower Post along the Liard River, northwest of the hotsprings.
A much longer detour is also available east via Highway 97 to Highway 16 and then to Highway 37, and Highway 37 in the west.
Meanwhile, a washout on Babine Lake Road near the intersection with Highway 16, has resulted in a hole roughly 100 feet wide.
Crews are looking to construct a temporary bridge across the hole to allow for logging traffic while they work on a more permanent fix.
A detour is in place using the Granisle Connector at the 45 km mark, then taking Highway 118 in Granisle to the Highway 16 junction in Topley.
No timetable is available for the re-opening of either road.
