Another Indigenous government has issued a statement in support of suspended Assembly of First Nations National Chief Roseanne Archibald.
Archibald was suspended earlier this month amid an investigation in to bullying and harassment complaints from four staffers.
But, her suspension didn’t actually come down until after she issued comments regarding the complaints during a CBC interview.
In those comments, Archibald said the the staff members were seeking million dollar contract payouts, and accused the AFN of corruption and collusion.
She would later call their accusations a smear campaign, and call for a forensic audit and independent review of the Assembly’s last eight years.
Now, the Tŝilhqot’in National Government has joined the growing list of organizations issuing support for Archibald.
They say her efforts to create change, relating to transparency, truth and accountability at the AFN, are long overdue.
