Residents of the Northwest can expect more reasonable temperatures today, according to Environment Canada.
All heat warnings and related special weather statements which had been issued in the north have now been called off.
Forecasted rain will play a part in cooling things off, with daytime highs in the Terrace and Kitimat area expected to cap out at sub-20 degree temperatures.
Thundershowers are on the slate for most of the Interior, Bulkley Valley, and Northwest, with a severe thunderstorm watch in place in the Cariboo.
Wildfire risks, however, remain heightened, with relatively dry weather the past few days, and lightning in the forecast.
