More funding and opportunities will be coming the way of Indigenous people looking to work in BC’s Forest Sector.
$437,000 in Provincial funding will be headed the way of the First Nations Forestry Council so they can use it for their Indigenous Forestry Scholarship Program as well as their online forestry careers-matching tool.
Both the program and the matching tool will look to increase the number of Indigenous students and residents working and studying in the Forest Sector.
The program in particular will make the lives of 25 students more affordable as it will give out $612,000 for tuition as well as living scholarships for full-time schooling in designated post-secondary institutions, in addition to paid summer work-term experience.
The funding will be supported by the StrongerBC Economic Plan.
