Today is National Indigenous Peoples day and that has provided an opportunity for celebration throughout many different northern BC communities.
Prince Rupert’s celebration is taking place at the Rotary Waterfront Park until 8 in the evening and features local vendors, musicians, dance groups and more.
Burns Lake held their celebration at Spirit Square on Radley Beach and featured similar activities as Prince Rupert as well as a parade that started at the College of New Caledonia parking lot and made its way down Highway 16.
As for Terrace, the town held its celebration back on Saturday at George Little Park and that was hosted by the Kermode Friendship Society.
That event also had its own dancers, drummers, vendors and even held a kids bike parade and limited movie screenings.
