A report has been released by the Provincial Government that reveals the feedback they got from everyone who took part in their public engagement asking for advice on how to implement their Indigenous-focused graduation requirement.
The summary of this feedback was published in a report called What We Heard.
This consultation was held because the Ministry of Education and Child Care, in tandem with the First Nations Education Steering Committee, made an announcement earlier this year that every secondary student in BC would need to finish Indigenous-focused coursework before graduation.
The online public engagement was held between March 7th and April 22nd of this year and it saw over 5,600 people in BC let the government know what types of courses should be available to use for the grad requirement.
