A brand new partnership between the Province of BC and the group known as Japan Overseas Infrastructure Investment Corporation for Transport and Urban Development (JOIN) has formally been put together.
The intention of this partnership is to create innovative and clean solutions for future transportation projects.
The memorandum of co-operation for this partnership was signed by both BC’s minister of jobs, Ravi Kahlon and Tatsuhiko Takesada, JOIN’s CEO and president.
This agreement will also allow JOIN and BC to share ideas as well as discuss transportation projects and priorities such as urban development, railways, infrastructure projects, port terminals, airports and ferries.
JOIN is a company that mainly invests in transportation and urban development projects outside Japan while still supporting Japanese companies like equipment manufacturers and contractors in order to help them expand their business overseas.
The partnership is also intended to help BC fully complete the StrongerBC Economic Plan, whose main goals are to address both inequality and climate change.
