BC has recently released a report on the amount of electric vehicles that are now on the province’s roads thanks to CleanBC’s Go Electric programs and rebates.
According to the Province, BC’s number of electric vehicles has increased by 1,600% over the past six years.
For Budget 2022, the Province introduced a provincial sales tax exemption for previously used electric vehicles, which will make those vehicles more affordable and by proxy, allow people to have more options when buying their own car.
In addition to doing what they can to add more charging stations, the Province is also supporting electric vehicles via programs like the CleanBC Go Electric EV Maintenance Training program to train mechanics for electric vehicles, and that’s coming to post secondary schools this year.
The rising populations of these vehicles is part of CleanBC, which looks to create a more prosperous, balanced and sustainable future for the Province.
