A clerical error made while ordering materials for their new downtown pool will cost the City of Prince George a pretty penny.
During last night’s regular meeting, council voted to add more than $2.8 million to the project’s budget.
More than half of that funding, an estimated $1.7 million, is due to a clerical error which saw steel delivered with the wrong primer.
In total, the project’s price tag now sits at over $39 million, more than $4 million overbudget.
$10 million of that comes from grant funding, while the City is on the hook for the remainder.
