RCMP have deemed a weapons complaint which prompted lockdowns at two Quesnel schools this morning unfounded.
Just after 9:30 this morning, police received a third party report of a man with a firearm spotted outside Correlieu Secondary School.
As a result, both that school and a nearby elementary school were locked down out of precaution.
Officers searched both schools, and found no signs of a weapon, and were unable to identify the original caller.
Witnesses in the area at the time say they did not notice a man with a firearm, as initially reported by the caller.
Police are continuing to investigate in an attempt to locate the original caller, and anyone with information is asked to contact Quesnel RCMP at 250 992 9211.
