After an extensive search, School District 82 has selected their next superintendent.
Aaron Callaghan has been selected to replace incumbent Janet Meyer as Superintendent and CEO of the Coast Mountains School District, come August 1st.
Meyer, who will continue in the role until then, announced her retirement last November.
Callaghan is currently serving as Director of Programs and Student Services of the Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education in Nova Scotia, but has worked in BC in the past.
He started his 27 year career in education working in the Peace River North School District.
In his post in Nova Scotia, Callaghan helped to implement a cross-divisional framework focusing on Indigenous and African Nova Scotian history and culture for 3,000 employees.
