A small business in the northwest is being recognized for the impact it’s had on the community, despite Covid challenges.
Atlin Mountain Coffee Roasters, founded by Leandra Brient, has been named as one of 5 finalists for the Small Business BC Business Impact Award.
According to SBBC judges, the business brings an international flair to the community, while keeping their supply chains local.
They utilize an Italian-made wood-fire roaster, powered by solar energy, and fuelled with hand-split, locally sourced, pine, to create a wide array of blends.
In addition, they offer a wide range of fundraiser blends, which see portions of sales donated to local associations and projects.
In total, 636 businesses from 88 different communities received Small Business BC Awards nominations.
In the Business Impact category, first place will take home $8,000, while second and third get $4,000 and $1,500, respectively.
Judges will announce the winners on April 28th, after all finalists have a chance to present.
