According to RCMP, local residents and business owners, Terrace saw a rise in both break ins, and thefts during the first couple months of 2022.
Certain businesses have been hit harder than others as a result, with many being robbed multiple times.
Police have attributed this rise in thefts largely to three prolific offenders, who recently returned to the community at the time of the spike.
Following an investigation, RCMP arrested all three, with two sentenced to jail time.
In February, the third offender’s return to Terrace was again met with a spike in crime.
Officers are investigating, and charges are being forwarded to the Prosecution Service for approval.
