The University of Northern BC is making a brand new fund available to their students that travel internationally as a part of their studies.
This fund, known as the Travelling Knowledges program, will give financial help to 62 domestic undergraduate students looking to take a trip that can range from three weeks to potentially a year.
These funds can be spent on whatever the students desire, be it either academic, travel or living expenses or potentially even expenses that are related to healthcare and travel documents.
Students will be able to apply for grants ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 between 2022 and 2026.
Although this fund is available to every Canadian student, it mainly targets Indigenous, disabled and low income background students that haven’t had many chances to travel internationally.
An information session will be held on March 11th for anyone interested in applying.
More information on that session can be found here and the official release on the program can be found here.
