Canada’s Minister of Indigenous services, Patty Hajdu, announced today that Canada is launching a call for proposals addressing water issues on Indigenous reserves.
Specifically, this call is seeking proposals that help address the retention, recruitment, and the availability of water and wastewater operators working on Indigenous reserves.
The main reason for the call is that skilled water and wastewater operators are of great importance to maintaining safe access to drinking water in First Nations communities.
The Federal Government has re-affirmed their commitment to supporting First Nations as they look to find solutions for finding these operators that best suit their communities.
This call will remain in place until April 25th and to find out how to apply, click here.
