Patio liquor service at Terrace’s Royal Canadian Legion branch is one step closer to becoming a reality.
In May of last year, City Council issued a development permit to allow the Legion to construct a permanent outdoor patio space.
In January of this year, the Legion submitted an application to amend their liquor license to add the new space.
As part of that amendment, they also needed to notify neighbours and RCMP, and give them a chance to provide feedback.
RCMP offered no concerns with the plan, and, at the time of last night’s council meeting, no community feedback had been submitted.
Under the amendments, total occupancy will remain the same, at 227 patrons, but will be re-distributed to cover the patio.
With no public input received, staff will prepare a comprehensive report and resolution for Council, at which point they will have the option to host their own public hearing.
