An inability to ship product out fast enough has led to curtailments at Canfor’s Taylor Pulp Mill.
According to Canfor, the final straw which led to the minimum 6 week curtailment, were ongoing transportation issues, impacting their ability to ship their BCTMP pulp.
But other factors, such as increasing fibre costs, a constrained regional supply of fibre, and weaker long-term market forcasts, also played a role in the decision.
Canfor is estimating a 25,000 tonne reduction in BCTMP pulp production as a result of the curtailment.
