Daybreak Farms, Northern BC’s only egg producer, has applied for a zoning amendment from the City of Terrace to improve their operations.
Current zoning does not allow Daybreak to significantly renovate or rebuild their facilities.
If the zoning amendment were to be approved, Daybreak would look to get a new pit-manure system, upgrade their three chicken barns, move their feed mill to 4423 Eby Street, lessen their waste and methane emissions, and create jobs.
They are also asking for community support.
Residents can show their support by: signing the petition at the Terrace Library or Farm office, and sending letters of support when a public hearing is announced.
