Some 250 non-profit organizations across BC are set to benefit from the province’s most recent Community Gaming Grant cycle.
This stream focuses on projects which improve public safety, and support environmental conservation.
In Terrace, a total of 80,000 dollars will go towards projects which improve recreational safety and land search and rescue efforts.
Smithers gets 6,500 dollars to help with emergency communications radio systems.
On the North Coast, four projects will split just over 110,000 in funding for marine search and rescue activities, ecosystem conservation, and environmental outreach.
In the Quesnel and Williams Lake areas, nearly 337,000 dollars will go to fire and emergency response and public safety programs, and education and outreach.
And in Prince George, 306,000 will be split between fire and emergency rescue, land search and rescue, and animal outreach and education activities.
