A statement was issued earlier today regarding Canada’s review of an order that asked them to pay money to help First Nations families.
The Minister of Indigenous Services, Patty Hajdu as well as the Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations, Marc Miller were among the people that stated that Canada was withdrawing their review of the order on First Nation’s child and Family services capital funding.
Canada will now be funding and purchasing all the capital assets needed to ensure that all the services of the Jordan Principle and the First Nations Child and Family Services program are delivered properly.
Both ministers also mentioned that each step forward they take gets the country closer to truly reforming both of those programs.
