Canfor will be shutting down operations on one of their production lines in Prince George to tackle some repairs.
Yesterday, the company announced an extended closure at their Northwood NBSK Pulp Mill in Prince George.
In order to ensure the safe operation of recovery boiler number one, a rebuild of the lower furnace is required.
That rebuild will force the closure of one of two production lines at the Mill for an estimated 85 to 100 days.
During that time, Canfor expects to see a reduction in NBSK pulp of up to 80,000 tonnes.
The cost of the rebuild is estimated at 30 million dollars.
