A 19 year-old Williams Lake resident has been honoured by the City for his efforts to help make vaccinations more accessible.
Massimo Calabrese was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation during this week’s regular council meeting.
Calabrese, who is now a student at the University of Victoria, organized a series of vaccination clinics at the Paradise Cinemas theatre.
During the presentation, Mayor Walt Cobb lauded his efforts in working with Interior Health, noting that Calabrese accomplished what he and multiple councillors could not.
Nearly 1,500 people were vaccinated at the clinics set up at the theatre.
Calabrese, who turns 20 next week, thanked the theatre’s owners, Dave and Jas Hothi and son their son Munraj, as well as the health care workers who made the clinics possible.
