A prolific offender led RCMP on a chase from Williams Lake to Kamloops yesterday, all on stolen gas.
At around 6:45 yesterday morning, a blue pick up truck was witnessed stealing gas from a local gas station.
Later in the morning, the same truck was involved in an incident in Ashcroft, which prompted a short chase, but the truck was able to escape.
At around 10:30 in the morning, a Kamloops RCMP officer observed the truck while driving on the Trans Canada Highway.
Multiple RCMP units were deployed, and a spike strip was used to stop the truck on the Highway near Dallas, which sent the truck in to a ditch.
A 28-year old prolific offender who is known to police was arrested after a short foot chase, and is being held in court until he can appear.
No information has been released as of yet.
