School District 82 is still considering whether or not they will require staff to be vaccinated, holding strong to their belief that that is a provincial decision.
Provincial health officials have put the onus on the individual Boards to decide amongst themselves whether or not to mandate vaccination.
But the Coast Mountains School District’s board has said all along that the decision to issue a mandate should be left to health officials.
They are continuing to monitor the situations at their schools and are following all issued provincial health orders and guidelines.
While some Boards have decided to issue mandates, most have followed a similar path path to SD82.
While Covid cases in youth are on the rise, health officials say most exposures continue to happen outside of schools.
