More homes have been sold in British Columbia through just 11 months this year, than any other full year on record.
According to the BC Real Estate Association, 117,965 units have changed hands this year, more than 5,000 more than 2016’s record.
But while sales went up, so to did costs.
In November of 2020, the average price of a home in BC was just over 814 thousand dollars, in 2021 it was 994 thousand.
While housing inventory in the province is at a record low, that isn’t stopping people from nabbing up homes as soon as they can.
Currently the amount of listings across the province is equal to what they would normally be in Greater Vancouver alone.
