A Heiltsiuk woman from Bella Bella has been selected as one of 18 members of the new StrongerBC Young Leaders Council.
22 year-old Clea Schooner will join the council, and will bring her prior experience as communications lead for the Qqs Projects Society, a local charitable non-profit.
Schooner says that climate change, the environment, and Indigenous values and beliefs are all important topics which need more attention.
The 18 selected council members will all serve one year terms, but have the option to remain on council for up to 3 terms.
