A statement has been sent out by the BC Ministry of Jobs saying that they’ve selected 18 youth between 15 and 23 years old to be a part of the inaugural Stronger B-C Young Leaders Council.
They also stated that this council’s main focus will be identifying issues that young people in BC care about like the environment and education, and then giving advice to the government on how they can best handle these issues.
Another thing that they said was that these councils will be appointed to one year terms at minimum but they also have the option to stay on for three years at maximum.
The Council’s first meeting will happen in the spring of next year and regular meetings are going be held as often as four times a year, and these meetings can be either in person or online.
