British Columbia’s state of emergency has been extended at least another two weeks, as the South continues their repair efforts.
Initially declared in mid-November, the state of emergency was put in place after a barrage of flooding and landslides decommissioned numerous key roads and infrastructure.
Now, as crews continue to work round-the-clock to repair the extensive damage, it is being extended another two-weeks.
However, a fuel rationing order which had restricted Southern drivers to 30 Litres per fill up, has been lifted.
Limitations were originally put in place alongside the state of emergency to ensure emergency crews had enough supply.
According to Safety Minister Mike Farnworth, the measure proved to be effective, and is no longer required.
