Residents of the District of Wells will be hitting the polls in February, after a mass exodus left them without a Mayor, and most of Council.
Last month, Mayor Gabe Fourchalk announced his resignation, citing a conflict of interest with his employer, Barkerville Gold Mines.
Councillors Chris Cooley, Ksenya Dorwart, and Jordan Rohatynski, also tendered their resignations, leaving the District with just one Councillor.
The District is looking to elect a Mayor and three councillors to join remaining councillor Mandy Kilsby.
A nomination period will open up on December 21st, and close on December 31st at 4:00 in the afternoon.
The byelection proper is scheduled for February 5th.
