Northern drivers are being warned to expect delays on the roads the next few days.
Large commercial vehicles will be transporting oversized cargo, necessitating rolling closures across much of Highway 16.
At around 9:00 tonight, Highway 16 will see closures pick up between Terrace and Prince Rupert, ending at 6:00 tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow, the Highway will see sporadic shut downs between Terrace and Topley, also picking up at 9:00 and wrapping up at 6:00 Saturday morning.
On Saturday, closures will begin at 11:00 at night and keeping up until 5:00 in the morning, impacting the roads between Topley and Prince George.
And on Sunday, Highway 16 will face its final closure between Prince George and the Highway 97 intersection in Bear Lake, running from Midnight until 5:00.
From there, the closures will shift to Highway 97, closing it down until the Highway 29 intersection in Chetwynd beginning at 9:00 Monday night, and wrapping up 7 hours later.
Closures will be intermittent, and times are all estimates.
