A trucker strike in the South which could have impacted the entire province, has been narrowly avoided.
On Monday, Unifor served a 72-hour strike notice to two container trucking companies which supply the Port of Metro Vancouver.
But, just before the deadline yesterday, Prudential Transportation joined Aheer Transportation in signing a tentative pattern agreement.
Set earlier this year, the agreement includes drug, dental, health and insurance coverage, as well as an increase in wait time payments and daily minimum wages.
Nearly 300 drivers represented by Unifor will benefit from the agreement.
