The Quesnel School District has a new Principal of Indigenous Education, and she comes from the Williams Lake First Nation.
Nation Councillor JoAnne Moiese will step in to the new role beginning next year.
On top of her position as a councillor, Moiese, who is an educator by trade, has recently worked alongside the Little Chiefs Primary School.
Prior to that, she served as Principal at a number of First Nations schools across the Interior.
She will replace out-going Principal Patty Kimpton on January 1st, as Kimpton enters retirement.
