Yesterday, West Fraser announced the lay off of more than 200 pulp mill workers in Quesnel, due to issues transporting product.
But, operations in Williams Lake will be going ahead as usual through the week.
They will, however, be temporarily cutting the weekend shift at their plywood mill.
Flooding and extreme weather events in the south have led to transportation and logistics issues, and the inability to adequately ship product.
Cariboo Pulp and Paper in Quesnel, is facing a 16 day closure, and Quesnel River Pulp is operating at limited capacity, both due to the same issues.
