A two vehicle collision near Hixon this afternoon has claimed one life.
At around 12:10, Quesnel RCMP responded to reports of the collision on Highway 97, south of Olson Road.
A pick-up truck and semi-truck had collided, though the cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
When police arrived, they found that the driver of the pick-up truck had already passed away, while the semi-truck driver was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
An investigation in to the cause of the accident has been launched, and nothing is being ruled out at the moment.
Conditions on the road are incredibly icy and slippery at the moment.
Highway 97 is still closed in both directions as crews clear the road and investigate further.
