A tentative deal has been reached at Gibraltar Mines which hopes to keep more than 500 workers from striking.
At the end of October, workers represented by Unifor Local 3018 voted 98 percent in favour of striking.
On Monday, Taseko Mines, who operate the site, were issued a 72-hour strike notice, following months of negotiations.
Now, the Union says they have reached a tentative agreement with Taseko, which still needs to be ratified.
Workers will soon have a chance to view and vote on the proposed agreement before it is finalized.
No further details on the tentative agreement have been released at this time.
