Mass flooding and extreme weather across BC has forced the temporary shut down of the Trans Mountain Pipeline.
Prompted mainly by flooding in the Interior and near Hope, the closure of the 1,500 km pipeline is purely for precuationary reasons.
In addition, on-going construction work on the pipeline expansion project in the Lower Mainland has been halted.
Running between Edmonton and the Coast, the pipeline can produce as much as 300 thousand barrels of oil per day.
