Some workers at a Williams Lake area mine have voted in favour of striking.
Unifor Local 3018 president Curtis Finley announced earlier today that 98 percent of workers represented by the Union at Taseko’s Gibraltar Mine have voted in favour of a strike.
Last week, Unifor members announced they would be holding strike meetings after they shot down a tentative contract offer which pulled largely negative reviews.
The Union represents more than 500 employees at the Mine, located north of McLeese Lake.
Word on how the strike action could proceed is expected to come following meetings in the coming weeks.
