Recycling is set to become a little easier for residents near Prince George with the re-opening of a renovated transfer station.
Cummings Road Regional Transfer Station had been closed for construction and capacity upgrades in June.
Upgrades made during the Station’s down time will improve traffic flow at multiple problem areas, and increase safety for staff and users.
According to the District, the Station had simply outgrown its original design, resulting in traffic jams, and limited recycling opportunities.
While the Station has re-opened for now, the District is still in the process of defining the catchment area for the proposed implementation of pass cards next year.
Just over 2 million dollars went in to the construction at the Transfer Station, located just east of Prince George.
