After undergoing a biopsy procedure relating to a growth in his throat last week, Premier John Horgan has announced he has been diagnosed with cancer.
Pathology reports following last Thursday’s surgery revealed that the growth was indeed cancerous.
Horgan says that doctors tell him the prognosis is good and that he is expected to make a full recovery.
The Premier will begin radiation treatment sometime in the next few weeks, scheduled to wrap up in December.
Horgan, who is now 62, was previously treated for bladder cancer in 2008, after which he had been declared cancer free at the time.
