Carrier Sekani Family Services have launched a new campaign aimed at eliminating Covid vaccine hesitancy, titled Cousins Before Covid.
That campaign will focus on three main pillars, which align with their Nation’s core values: building trust, caring for community, and supporting access.
Part of the first pillar will mean tackling a history of medical racism and government infringement on Indigenous rights.
The second aims to help eliminate disinformation around the vaccine, while stressing caring about the community over the individual.
And the third pillar will focus on eliminating barriers that may prevent those who want to get vaccinated from getting access.
The program will run until December 17th, throughout all 11 Carrier and Sekani Nations.
You can share why getting vaccinated is important to you, along with #CousinsBeforeCOVID on social media for a chance to win prizes.
