Northern Health has issued a statement attempting to appeal to those in Northeastern BC who are still unvaccinated.
So far, 92 critical care patients have been transfered from Northern Health to other Authorities, with 40 percent of those coming from the Eastern-most locales.
A significant amount of those patients are unvaccinated, and the Northeastern regions make up the lowest vaccination rates in the province.
In light of this, the Authority is pleading with its residents to protect themselves and others from Covid-19 by getting vaccinated.
Until then, the overwhelming number of individuals at hospitals is forcing them to ask residents with less urgent needs to visit family doctors instead.
According to the Authority, Fort St John and Dawson Creek in particular are currently struggling through large influxes of Covid cases.
