Two parliamentary secretaries that have some experience in helping a community recover after a disaster, like when they helped Gran Forks recover after they were flooded in 2018, have now been chosen to be recovery liaisons between the village of Lytton and the provincial government.
Lytton was destroyed by a Wildfire back on June 30th and two people lost their lives in the blaze.
Public Safety Minister Mike Farnworth sent out a statement saying that the liaisons will get feedback from Lytton’s residents, and then get said feedback to the cabinet group that is currently working on the village’s recovery.
Farnworth also said that the ministry has committed funding to taking debris away from the village so the cleanup process doesn’t have to get dragged out any longer.
